Brave Pear

Approx. 8” X 8” oil on gessoed masonite.  $75

Digital StillCamera

This backlit pear was a challenge.  I’m forcing myself to try a few different things.  Fun, but scary.

I have had such a hard time getting back in the studio.  I feel the urge to work on more fruits and vegetables.  I’ve been dreaming of lemons and peppers again.

I find myself giving paintings a critical eye now, while trying to figure out how *I* would paint the same thing, even though I've only been doing this for two weeks.

Have you tried watercolour? I didn't see any on this site.

The critical eye thing, now you will waste, er invest hours and hours googling on the internet.

I haven't used watercolors in years. I got hooked on oils and haven't looked back. I highly admire watercolor and the brave souls who produce them.

I can honestly say I like your pear better than Cezanne's.

I am so excited (and inspired) that you're back in the studio.
